Emma
CH Cobblestone What’s the Catch

One of the litters I was considering getting a puppy from was out of Gwyndara’s Double Impact (Foster), and Red Hat Romancing the Stone (Allie).  And I had been invited up to the grading when the puppies were nearing 10 weeks old. The mom was out of Rosette’s Devil in a Blue Dress (Lydia). There were several things about Lydia that I admired. One, she was the mother of our Rylee and I had seen a couple of other litters from her and the overall quality throughout her litters was excellent. I also, through friendship with the breeder was able to see many littermates as adult dogs. From my view, Lydia was a proven producer of healthy, athletic, and attractive dogs. Her litter of three before Rylee’s produced three outstanding show dogs. One of those puppies was the 16-month-old athlete that caught my attention many years before running in the paddock while I was purchasing Rylee as a puppy.  Allie was the mother of this litter and as a foundation, her athleticism and balance were elite by my standards, just like her mom, Lydia. At the puppy grading there were a couple of females that distinguished themselves, but the overall consistency impressed me and was noteworthy.  I had seen it before in the litters her mom produced.

Weeks later, the breeder advised that she needed to place the now 16-week puppy girl that I liked. Returning to Michigan to look her over again, I had been researching the lineage of the sire, CH Gwyndara Double Impact (Foster).  He was gorgeous and all the feedback I got about him was positive including personality as a pet and conformation structure. Viewing the puppy, it was visually apparent that she was trending toward better from my view. And, seeing a glimmer of the athleticism of her mother, I brought Emma home.

Emma had a good conformation show career, starting with a couple of Specialty Best in Sweeps wins, and finishing with major wins at two Specialties. She placed 2nd in the 9–12-month puppy class at the 2013 Nationals. On the farm, she had a motor like her mother and did not tire easily. She was fast and an excellent swimmer. Of all my dogs, she was the most attentive to ground scents and was always searching and exploring. She currently lives in great home in Michigan.
